Tark, the Debating and Creative Writing Society of Ramanujan College, aims to keep alive the same passion in its members. The students of the Society have proved their mettle at every competition, be it Slam Poetry Event or different formats of debating or creative writing, and have successfully represented Ramanujan College across Delhi University and several other institutions. The Society has held various mocks to equip the students with the necessary skills for different debating formats, like conventional debates, parliamentary debates, model united nations, youth parliaments, turncoat debates, and extempore. Practice sessions for poetry and creative writing have help students to hone their skills for slam poetry performances and different creative writing styles. Tark has organized several creative writing and debating competitions at JOSH, the annual fest of the College, along with various other competitions throughout the semesters to keep the spirit of competition alive among the students. The contribution of every member has been significant to make these events successful.

Ms. Samridhi Nain, the President of the Society for the year 2018-2019, has gone on to bag prizes at several Model United Nations, prominent of them being at BITSMUN Pilani, Amity Mock Parliament, Kirori Mal College Model United Nation and BLISSMUN at Sri Venkateswara College, where she has been awarded Best Delegate. Other student members, Mr. Pankaj, Mr. Nitish, Mr. Garvit, Ms. Manasvi, Ms. Navya and Ms. Yashi, have also successfully held the name of the College high as they proved their mettle at several competitions.

Salman Rushdie wrote, “A mature society understands that at the heart of democracy is argument.” It is with this spirit that the members of the Society persevere ahead and engage in the art of argumentation, be it through debating or creative writing.
