The college is named after Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan, the greatest mathematician our country ever had. His life is a lesson for every youth on how sheer determination can help overcome every obstacle and help one reach the pinnacle in their field of study. To continue the Legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the college established Ramanujan Centre for Applied Mathematics and Research in July 2012. This centre aims to expose students to various areas in mathematics other than those prescribed in the syllabus.
Appreciable highlights of the Centre
The centre has its own library, which has a very good collection of textbooks, reference books and general books in mathematics, some of them are the following:
Ramanujan’s Lost notebook, Part: I-IV.
Srinivasa Ramanujan: A Mathematical Genius, by K. Srinivas Rao.
RMS Lecture Notes Series-Number 1 to Number 14.
RMS collected works series: Vol I and II.
Resonance of Ramanujan’s Mathematics, by R. P. Agarwal, Vol: I, II & III.
The centre organizes various interdisciplinary lectures to familiarize students with the potentialities of the field. The events conducted by the centre are not only restricted to academia but also aims to highlight the creative skills of the student.
