Year 2020-2021

  1. A 2 Week Faculty Development Programme on “Innovations in Management Education and Research” was organized from August 17 –30, 2020. The FDP envisaged on exploring the contemporary developments and latest additions to the body of knowledge in the Management discipline. It encompassed recent advancements and best practices in Management research, including Qualitative Research in Management, Hands-on application of research techniques using R Software, Effective Research Writing.
  2. The Department of Management Studies, Managerix organized a webinar on topic Emerging Trends in Organizational Behavior- A Research Perspective on 23rd December 2021, virtually on MS Teams with an objective to give an overview of research methodology to students. The resource person for the webinar was Dr. Vibhash Kumar, Associate Professor, Jindal Global Business School, O. P. Jindal Global University. He discussed about the research tool that is mainly used in research. The tools are Google Scholar, Mendeley/Zotero, Research Gate, Turnitin/Urkund. Then he elaborated about research that is based on individual level or group level. On individual level he focuses on four points i.e., Perception, Personality, Emotion & Stress and Intelligence but on group level he discussed about the Work Teams, Leadership, Power & Politics and Organisation Structure.
  3. On 28th January 2022, The Department organised a webinar on the topic “Beginner’s Guide to Investing – A Practitioner Perspective”. The webinar acted as a guidinglight for the students in the field of investment. Mr. Kanuj Bharti was the speaker who currently works as an assistant Vice President in the Wealth Management department, HDFC Private Banking Group.

Year 2019-20

  1. The Department of Management Studies of Ramanujan College, University of Delhi, organized its Orientation Programme for the first-year students of the Bachelor of Management Studies on August 19, 2019 to familiarize them with the course, history of society, defining the basics on which a society work, faculty members and all other information about the college. A campus tour was organized to resolve their bewilderments and to provide them a rejuvenating experience for their studies ahead.
  2. The department conducted a visit to National Stock Exchange (NSE) in Sansad Marg, Delhi on 14th November, 2019. The visit was conducted for first and second year students of BMS to spread knowledge about the financial market. Mr. Shashi Kant, assistant manager took the session introducing about NSE and basic knowledge of trading and problems associated with it. Everything was well presented to gain knowledge and inspiring for all the students, and he also gave us suggestions and practical ideas of trading in the stock market.
  3. Amidst the ongoing pandemic situation our society in collaboration with Young Engine, a youth community organised an online competition Bizquest 1.0which was a combination of ideation, analysis, strategizing & presenting from 10th to 25th July, 2020. Not just this the department also arranged weekly seminars/workshops for our participants relating to the week’s theme. Industry experts from various global organizations such as LinkedIn, L.E.K Consulting, Haramp studios were our mentors for these workshops. It was a two-week-long extensive competition. The finals were live-streamed on Youtube. It was completely online and took place through consistent efforts of both students and faculty members. The event saw participants from all over India. We had participants from some of the top B-schools in our country including IIM’s and NMIS.

Year 2018-19

  1. The Orientation Program for the Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) Batch of 2018-2021 was held on 27th July, 2018 in the Ghalib Auditorium. It served as an ice breaking session and various academic and extra-curricular inputs such as the information about College, BMS Course, Faculty members, Departmental activities, Centers, Cells, Societies, and Add on Courses was provided to the students of the new batch.
  2. The department conducted an industrial visit to the Mother Dairy Plant in Patparganj, Delhi on 19th January, 2019.The visit was organized for the students pursuing BMS course to provide them with real insights of the working procedure of an esteemed organization like Mother Dairy.
  3. A special talk on “Formulation and Implementation of Strategies” was conducted by Ms. Nishtha Agarwal, Research Officer, Indian Institute of Public Administration on 31st January, 2019. Ms. Nishtha introduced and discussed various business strategies with numerous real-life examples of companies. She later in her session explained how the business strategies are implemented.
  4. A talk on “Artificial Intelligence” by Prof. Sujit Sengupta and Dr. Shivani from IILM Institute for higher education on 18th February 2019. They started from industrial revolution to machine intelligence and extending it further to Artificial Intelligence.
  5. A talk on ‘Investing in Stock Markets’ by Mr. Vaibhav Fotedar, Article Associate, BGIC & associate LLP on 19th February’ 2019 for the students studying ‘Investing in Stock Market’ paper. Students gained the insights of this subject.
  6. A ‘Global FinTech Conference 2019′ in collaboration with the Departments of Commerce and Computer Science and various blockchain communities was organized at North Campus, University of Delhi on 23rd – 24th February’ 2019. Several eminent speakers from Industry and Academia were part of the conference and they shared their valuable experience and insights.

Year 2017-18

  1. The Orientation Program for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) Batch of 2017-2020 was held on August 4, 2017 at the Ghalib Auditorium. All the information about College, Departmental activities, Societies and Faculty members was provided to the freshers. A video on Outreach Program of 2017 was also showed.
  2. A talk on “Entrepreneurial Skills” by PKD Nambiar, Entrepreneur, Marketing Strategist and Motivational Speaker on September 27, 2017 was organized.
  3. A workshop on “Power2Career” Program and Resume Writing Competition” by INNO-LABZ, A Leading Educational Enterprise on September 27, 2017 was organized.
  4. A special talk on “Managers of Tomorrow” by Mr. Anurag Rishi, Transformational/Motivational Speaker, Human Potential Trainer and a Life Coach on September 28, 2017 was organized.
  5. Management Development Cell (MDC) of the Department of Management Studies organized an industrial visit to the Decathlon Retail Sports Store located in Ansal Plaza Mall, South Extension, New Delhi on November 1, 2017. Apart from understanding the unique work culture, students were explained the entire Business Model of Decathlon including Marketing, Supply Chain & Logistics, Human Resource & Training. Students interacted with the managers and got answers to their queries.
  6. The Management Development Cell (MDC) of the Department organized a Workshop on “Careers in Financial Markets” in collaboration with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Institute Ltd., along with a scholarship test for admission into BSE Institute’s flagship Global Financial Markets Professional Course on February 2, 2018. The keynote speaker for the day was Prof. Sanjeev Das, a trainer and assessor for the National Skill Development Corporation in the BFSI Sector Skill Council and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
  7. An interactive seminar on the topic ‘CV Writing’ was conducted by UDAAN – the Placement Cell of the Department of Management Studies in association with IMS Coaching on February 5, 2018 in the Seminar Hall. The event was conducted by Mr. Dhrubya Jyoti Banik, a Civil Engineer from NIT Calicut.
  8. The Management Development Cell (MDC) of the Department organized their 3rd Industrial Visit to the fully automated, international standards manufacturing plant ofthe Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. located in Sonepat, Haryana on February 9, 2018. The visit was arranged to provide the students of BMS, with hand-on experience of the activities of a fully functional modern industrial plant.
  9. The Department of Management Studies in association with the Teaching Learning Center, Ramanujan College organized a two day National Conference on “Leadership in Organization: Contemporary Concerns and Key Developments” on March 22-23, 2018. The first day of the Conference witnessed a galaxy of eminent Academicians and Industry Delegates. The second day of the Conference was the Young Researchers Forum (YRF) in which three student centric competitions of Business Plan, Parliamentary Debate and Case Study were held.

Year 2017-16

  1. Following special lectures and workshops were organized by the Department of Management Studies during 2016-17 academic session for the benefit of its students:

    c. Workshops on “Motivation and Leadership” Ms. Devjani D. Gupta, Trainer, Samunnati 3rd& 24th September and October 1st, 2016
    d. Special Lecture on “HR and its Changing Trends” Mr. Anant Mishra, HR Executive, Center for Digital Financial Inclusion. 24th September, 2016
  2. MDC organized its first industrial visit to the bottling plant of Coca-Cola Moon Beverages Private Limited, situated in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh on 26th October, 2016. The visit was organized for the students pursuing BMS course to provide them with real insights of the working procedure of an esteemed organization like Coca-Cola.
