Ramanujan College, University of Delhi organised multiple events on account of 75th Independence Day under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav,’ an initiative of Government of India. Many programs were conducted all along the week. Today, the College organized a special cultural event for the celebration of Independence Day. The program began with a photo exhibition depicting the narratives of partition. The exhibition was organised under the guidance of Dr. Nirmalya Samanta, Department of English. This was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony. The ceremony began with a formal welcome address by the Principal, Prof. S.P. Aggarwal wherein, he emphasised on the importance of Unity in Diversity. The ceremony witnessed number of cultural events. The students of Jazba theatre group presented a Nukkad Natak and a student from BA (Prog.) performed a cultural dance performance. Beside this, there were also two song performances. The main highlight of the program, however, was a Robotic Performance. In this the robot Nao did a performance holding the national flag of the country. The program was a huge success under the expert guidance of Mr. J.N. Choudhury, Dr. Madhu Kaushik, Mr. Prakhar Wadhwa, Dr. Rajiv Nayan and other senior faculty members. Mr. Vinod, Mr. Anil and Mr. Prashant from the IT department also played very active role in the organisation and execution of the program.
