To celebrate Van Mahotsav, Ramanujan College organised Environment Awareness Programme and Plantation Drive in the college premises on 4th July 2019. The event was organised in collaboration with National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), a subordinate office, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. A team of officials from NMNH visited college to organise the event.

The college students including the NSS students of the college participated in this programme along with the principal, Dr. S. P. Aggarwal and teaching faculty members.  The programme started with administering the Green Pledge to the participants by  Dr. C. R. Magesh, Scientist-B, who also interacted with the students telling them about the importance of Van Mahotsav and planting trees to make the environment clean and green and helping in controlling the pollution in Delhi.

The Principal of the college lead the students in planting tree saplings in the college premises. They also tied pledge cards to the plant saplings pledging to take care of trees they have planted. All the participating college students along with faculty members planted tree saplings.
